ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • Worship Information for Sunday, July 5

    Sermon Text: Ruth 1:19-21
Sermon Title: The Lord Is Against Me - Jay Sklar, Covenant Theological Seminary
    Meditation:
How long shall my poor troubled breast
Be with these anxious thoughts oppressed?
    And Satan, my malicious foe
Rejoice to see me sunk so low?

How would the powers of darkness boast
Should but one praying soul be lost!
But I have trusted in thy grace,
And shall again behold thy face.

Whate'er my fears or foes suggest,
    Thou art my hope, my joy, my rest;
My heart shall feel thy love, and raise
My cheerful voice to songs of praise.

    -Isaac Watts, Gadsby's Hymns #401

Small Group leaders re:Group!

This past Sunday Southwood Small Groups took a big step as we continue the transition from a church with small groups to a church of small groups.
Leaders from five different types of small groups - children, youth, men’s, women’s and mixed – met together for a time of refreshment, laughter, and training. The highlight was the stories the leaders shared of how God is changing them and the people they lead. This is thrilling and reason to praise our LORD because Life-Change is why we do Small Groups at Southwood.
