Jean Larroux recommended by Pastoral Search Committee

Jean Larroux recommended by Pastoral Search Committee

And He gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes.  Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love. Ephesians 4:11–16

It is my great joy and privilege to announce God’s kind provision in answering your heart’s prayer for a new Senior Pastor. You have been so faithful to partner in prayer for our church, our leadership, and our search committee. In His timing, God has indeed answered those prayers!

Last evening, I sat in the den of our Lodge together with the Session and Pastoral Search Committee and heard stories of what they referred to as “God’s Parade of Providence” that led them to our next Senior Pastor.  In the course of the evening, the Session participated in that parade as we acted to call a congregational meeting expressing unanimous agreement with the Pastoral Search Committee’s recommendation of Jean F. Larroux, III as Senior Pastor of Southwood Presbyterian Church.

On July 11th a meeting of the congregation of Southwood will be held to give a full report of the committee’s recommendation. You will be asked to vote in the affirmative issuing a call to Jean Larroux as our Senior Pastor thereby requesting examination and approval by Providence Presbytery.

On behalf of the Session, I would like to thank our Pastoral Search Committee: co-chairs Bob Greenman and Brock Warner, along with Carrie Jakab, Susan Lynch, Lindsey Wright, Brand Griffin, Alan Judge, Tim Schlichter and secretary Stephnie Blackwell for their tireless prayer and effort in seeking God’s man for our congregation and community.

Overjoyed by what God is doing in and through Southwood, my heart is singing songs of praise, adoration and joy to Jesus Christ our God and King for His great kindness to us in providing a shepherd in Jean Larroux.

Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen!

For Christ and His Kingdom,
Kenneth G. Leggett
