jr. high summer
As I write these words, preparations for the final Junior High event of the summer are taking place. Messy games are being planned, devotionals are being written and key volunteers are gathering to serve the youth of the Junior High Ministry. As the summer draws to a close with this event, this is a great time to reflect on a few of the ways the Lord has worked in and through our ministry the past two months. First of all, allow me to express the deep joy my wife and I have felt as we have transitioned back into the Southwood and High-Life community. To see so many familiar faces and enter into so many familiar homes the past two months has brought great comfort and peace to both of us. Thank you for opening your lives to us. Second, thank you for giving us your kids for the summer. We understand that for many, the busyness of the summer can often rival the chaos of the school year. Your effort and sacrifice to make our various events and trips available to your children is very much appreciated. It is through these events and trips that we have played and laughed, praised and worshiped and have been challenged and grown with your Junior Highers. Thank you for seeing the intentionality and value of each of these events. Third, and most important, I give praise to the Lord for his faithfulness and care the past two months. By not only providing us with safety and logistical ease all summer, God showed himself faithful by converting new believers, stirring the stagnant and sanctifying the hearts of many of his covenant children. We give Him heartfelt and abundant praise for His confirmation of our ministry. As the summer does indeed draw to a close and we look toward the coming school year, please continue to partner with us as we care for your children. As the new Junior High Director, I covet your prayers as my wife and I continue in the transition of vocational ministry at Southwood. The Junior High Staff longs for your continued commitment to making your kids available to the various avenues of ministry we have in place for the fall. And finally, continue to look with great excitement and praise toward what the Lord will do in his faithfulness for the ministry in the coming semester.
