Pastor’s Note
Blessed New Year
If I could only own one book other than my Bible it would be a little book called, “Valley of Vision.” It is a collection of Puritan prayers and devotions. Reading its pages is like stepping backwards in time toward a religion that is not so 20th Century. There is something about the contemplative religion of the Puritans that is intensely theological and intensely personal at the same time. These men and women understood the depth of their own sin and the heights of God’s love concurrently. Because of Christ, they had no reason to minimize either.
One prayer that I return to over and over again is entitled simply, “New Year”
