Women and Chocolate
What woman doesn’t love chocolate? This is one of the questions Southwood Women’s Ministry considered as they brainstormed on ways to encourage the women serving our church. During the hours of 9:45 to 10:45 am each Sunday, there are about 50 women serving our kids in the Children’s Sunday School classes. These classes include the Special Needs Class, Promise Path (Pre-K to Kindergarten), Truth Trek (1st and 2nd grade), Highway 34 (3rd and 4th grade), and Ascent (5th and 6th grade). It’s a big commitment for these women to give of their time, so the Women’s Minsitry wanted to thank them. And what better way than to prepare encouragement notes attached to Valentines candy?
The gifts were lovingly prepared by Jenny Fleming and Heather Joffrion. They were distributed by Kristen Woods, Rebecca Gassaway, and Ashley Poppe of the Cornerstone Sunday School Class on Sunday, February 14th. These women were greeted with big smiles and even bigger hugs as they delivered the goodies. What a treasure to minister to these teachers through words of encouragement! If your children attend these classes, please continue to encourage and thank these teachers for their sacrifice. They are growing the Kingdom of God as they minister to our kids!
