Thoughts on small groups

"My small group has given me a place to belong, and people that care about me!"

"Sometimes I find it hard to keep in the Word. I know I need to rely on it everyday but life just gets in the way. My small group keeps me accountable and on track."

"I love doing things with [my small group]! They are the people I most trust and the ones I know that I can count on no matter what."

"My High-Life small group leaders are awesome! It's great to know that some adults really care about me and want me to succeed in everything I do."

"Our Wilberforce group gives me a safe place to talk about some stuff I normally wouldn't share. The surprising thing is that even when I think that I am so bad, I am supported by a bunch of guys that know exactly what I am going through and many that have been there too."

Women's Discipleship

The Women’s Discipleship Ministry has the following objectives:

  1. To help develop the basics of the Christian walk into a woman’s life so that her relationship with God is growing in love, intimacy and obedience.
  2. To bring each woman to the point where she can disciple others also.
  3. For each woman to intentionally share her faith in Christ on a consistent basis.

Some of the many benefits of being in a discipleship group:

  • increased rate of spiritual growth
  • developing deep friendships with other Christian women
  • a place for you to be vulnerable/real about what is going on in your life
  • a group of women who will pray for you and encourage you
  • a place to flesh out how to walk with God each day regardless of your current situation
  • being equipped and trained for ministry to others

Women meet together in groups of 3 or 4 for two hours weekly. Together, they spend time in God’s Word, pray, share about their lives and what God is teaching them. They hold each other accountable for regular Scripture memory, having consistent Quiet Times (devotionals), achieving personal goals, and applying what they are learning about the basics of the Christian life. Each group meets for approximately 24 months. Groups meet weekly during the school year but are more flexible during holidays and the summer months. Homework takes 1 to 2 hours per week. Each group decides what day/time and where they are able to meet. Groups whose members need childcare are welcome to meet at the church on Thursday mornings in order to make use of the nursery.

There is a $20 fee to cover the cost of materials used in the discipleship groups.
